What is FA Addition? In how many ways an asset can be created in Oracle Fusion Cloud?

What is Fixed Asset Addition?

Fixed assets provide value over several years. Fixed assets are not bought for resale like trading, but rather it is bought to create value in the business. They are used in routine business activities such as office building, warehouse, computerized equipment, machinery, office equipment, and vehicles.

Fixed assets addition basically refers to assets that the entity acquired during the current accounting period.

Assets can be created in four ways in Oracle Fusion Cloud.
  • Manual additions (Quick and Detailed Additions)
  • Mass Additions (Accounts Payables or Project Accounting)
  • ADFDI (used by business users to load assets)
  • FBDI(used for data conversion)

Manual Additions: Assets created through UI manually are called Manual Additions.

Mass Additions: We create asset related invoices in AP/PA modules and convert those lines as assets in Oracle Assets module, this process is called Mass Additions.

ADFDI: We can create assets in bulk using ADFDI spreadsheet, basically this is used by business users when there are many assets to be capitalized.

FBDI: Implementation Consultants use FBDI templates to convert the assets from Legacy application to Oracle.
