Definition Access Sets in EBS R12

Definition Access Sets

Definition Access Sets are an optional security feature that allow you to secure shared General Ledger definitions such as Mass Allocations, Recurring Journal Formulas, and Financial Statement Generator (FSG) components.

Definition Access Sets allow you to:
• Assign a user or group of users access to specific definitions.
• Specify what actions can be performed on secured definitions for a user or group of users.

Create Definition Access Set

N: Setup --> Financials--> Definition Access Sets --> Define

Definition Access Set: KT Definition Access Set
Description: KT Definition Access Set                      Save and close.

Assign Definition Access Set to the responsibility

N: Setup -> Financials -> Definition Access Set ->Assign
Responsibility: KT GL Super user
Application: General Ledger
Security Group: Standard

Auto Assign	Definition Acces Set	Use	View	Modify
	Definition Access Set	√	√	√

 

Save and close the window.         -> Go to V R F.

Query the accounting calendar to enable the security

N: Setup -> Financials -> Calendars -> Accounting

Bring it to query mode F11
Calendar: KT% Control F11
Calendar: KT Acct Calendar
Description: KT Acct Calendar
[√] Enable Security

Definition Access Set	Use	View	Modify
Definition Access Set	√	√

 

Click Ok -> Save it             ->Ok      ->Close the window         -> Click Current  -> Ok
Go to V R F.

Query the calendar to check the result

N: Setup -> Financials -> Calendars -> Accounting

Query the KT Accounting Calendar
We cannot modify the calendar

Providing modify access

Grant modify access to the calendar
N: Setup -> Financials -> Definition Access Set -> Define
Bring it to query mode F11
Definition Access Set: KT% (Control F11)
Definition Access Set: KT Definition Access Set

Definition Type	Definition Name	Modify
Accounting Calendar	KT Accounting Calendar	√

 

Save and close the window.         Go to V R F.

Query the calendar to check the result

N: Setup -> Financials -> Definition Access Set -> Accounting
Query the KT Accounting Calendar

We can now modify the calendar.
Close the window.
