Security Rules in EBS R12

Security Rules in EBS R12

Security Rules are used to restrict specific values of the segments at responsibility level. Security rules are two types

1.      Hierarchal Security- In Hierarchical Security when we secure a parent value system automatically secures all their child values

2.       Non Hierarchal Security- When we secure a parent value system secures only a parent but not their child values

We are never allowed to process transactions against parent values. Parent values are used only in formulas, reports and summary accounts.
Test it if the rules are working fine by posting a journal entry in GL.
